For those of you who have contacted me over the past week and have been wondering why I haven't gotten back to you yet, please note that I had to drop everything and immediately travel to the east coast to be with my family as my dad is very, very ill. To all my clients and potential clients, you are all very important to me. Know that I have help at my studio and we are doing our best to respond to all inquiries in a timely manner, and that all client needs are being handled as quickly as possible. Your patience during this time is greatly appreciated.
My dad has always been a big supporter of my work, and he's just the best dad a girl could ever ask for. When I got married years ago, it was my dad who helped me plan the wedding of my dreams. Our father-daughter dance song was Bette Midler's "The Wind Beneath My Wings." Those words couldn't be more true for me then, and to this very day. For those who are reading my blog, I kindly ask that you please take a moment to say a prayer for my dad. It would mean so much to me.
I want to also thank Gene for posting about my dad on his blog, and to all those who commented. Your kind thoughts, well wishes and prayers are greatly appreciated. |

| My parents recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They are so much in love, and just love to laugh. |

I'm so fortunate to be a part of both the wedding industry and dog industry, and I get to work with some of the most amazing vendors! I thought as a great resource to brides and dog lovers alike, I'd feature a favorite vendor every now and then on my blog.
But first, I wanted to announce that I have created a new section on my blog for my favorite vendors. You'll notice at the very bottom of my blog the logos of these vendors. Every time the page refreshes, the logos will rotate. There are a handful of vendors now and more will be added. If you click on their logos it will take you directly to their respective websites. So please take the time to visit their websites. They are among the best in the business!
Stay tuned for my first "featured vendor"! |

| Ah, Vizslas! Aren't they such refined-looking dogs? Here's Montana ("Tana") and Dakota ("CoCo"). Their mom, Melyna, is launching an upscale doggie boutique this fall called CoCo and Tana Doggie Couture. The online boutique will offer luxury items such as designer beds, plush toys, gourmet snacks, custom clothing and, my favorite, fashionable collars by Bella Bean Couture! A launch date of September 1st is scheduled, so be sure to mark your calendars! I will provide a link as soon as the website goes live. |

Here's my little pug, Bogie. He just loves to be photographed! I had just finished a dog portrait session and stepped away from the set for only a moment to return and find Bogie sitting on the seamless paper waiting to have his photograph taken. He's 13 years old and ever since he was just 11 months he has always been in front of the camera. He may be graying and a little rough around the edges, but he still has that je ne sais quoi as Gene always says!
Oh, and as Gene suggested above, I've created a "Bogie" category for all his fans! |

| I first met Kuma earlier this year when he came to my studio along with his "parents" Richelle and Michael, whose wedding I will be photographing this September. When Richelle contacted me to do a session with Kuma, she told me that he was going to have surgery to remove a tumor on his right ear. As a result, Kuma was going to lose part of his ear so photos before surgery were very important. Well, Kuma was a great subject and very easy on the eyes, and I'm happy to report that he's recovering nicely from his surgery. Way to go, Kuma! |

| As promised, here's Jennifer and Patrick's "day after" portrait session in Maui! The couple are having a wedding reception in San Francisco later this month, so Jennifer chose to wear a cute sundress instead of her wedding gown, which she'll be wearing again. The session was relaxed and the backgrounds were gorgeous! We photographed in an area past Wailea that was all lava rocks set against the ocean. On our way back to Ka'anapli beach, we made a quick stop at the sugar cane fields. |

Of the many inquiries I've received for this date, I was lucky to spend the day with Jennifer and Patrick as they were "Maui'd" on the sun-kissed sands of Ka'anapali beach. An intimate dinner reception under the stars followed on the lawn of the Sheraton Maui Resort. Jennifer has such impeccable taste and I knew the wedding would be elegant. From her custom-designed gown and gold Stuart Weitzman shoes to a butterfly release and an exotic location, the wedding was perfect in every way. Mahalo!
Stay tuned for photos of Jennifer and Patrick's "day after" portrait sesson! |

| Jennifer's younger brother, Ryan, was the officiant. He and his lovely fiance Terri are getting married next year. |

| I think this shot is priceless! |

| This little girl just happened to walk into my frame... sometimes timing is everything. |

| One of the Sheraton's famous sunset cliff divers offers a lei to the gods just before diving into the ocean... |

This evening I watched the fireworks display overlooking San Francisco Bay from the rooftop of Gene's home. It was an amazing show of brilliant colors lighting up the sky. I hope everyone had a safe and happy July 4th!

| Our Studio Featured in Design Aglow! |
|
 |
I'm so excited to share that our studio is featured in the West Coast Issue (No. 2) of Design Aglow! Even more exciting is that Design Aglow devoted an entire page of the article to my pug, Bogie!
Design Aglow is the fusion of photography, design and inspiration. It's an online resource for information and products directed at professional wedding and portrait photographers. The site was created to inform, teach and inspire.
Also, congrats to Gene on being featured in the same issue as one of Design Aglow's "Rockstars of Photography!"
