  Taylor + Frank
The talented and beautiful Taylor Pham, founder of Thi Cosmetics and best known for her Lush Lashes, was married this past weekend! As a makeup artist, Taylor is always working behind the scenes helping brides look their very best. Now it was Taylor's turn to put on that white dress and be in front of the camera. I was so honored to not only be her photographer, but to also witness her wedding to her long-time love, Frank. And I also got to see Mimi, Taylor's best friend and maid-of-honor, and a former bride of mine and Gene's who was married last summer.

I was also fortunate to work with some amazing people and want to extend a special thank you to my good friend Tomas Flint, who flew in from New York to photograph Taylor's wedding with me. Tomas is one of the most genuine people I know, not to mention a super talented photographer! Be sure to check Tomas' blog for his perspective of the day. I also got to work with another good friend, Joel Serrato, who does the most beautiful Super 8 cinematography I've ever seen. I can't wait for Joel's highlights video of this wedding!

Details, details...

Bride's Dress: Amy Kuschel
Flowers: Paige Benjamin Passiflora Designs
Wedding Cinematographer: Joel Serrato of Joel Serrato Films
Wedding Reception: Holbrook Palmer Park, Atherton
Entertainment: Eric Yee of Spintronix

Enjoy the slideshow! If I could set it to music, I'd have the song "Suddenly I See" by KT Tunstall playing!

  Photo fun in Chinatown!
On Tuesday, OC photographers Becker and Jessica Claire joined my studio partner, Gene, and I for a fun afternoon exploring the streets of San Francisco's bustling Chinatown. There's a plethora of stores and restaurants catering mostly to tourists, as well as produce and fish markets where Chinese from surrounding neighborhoods come to shop. Walking around you'll feel like you've just stepped back in time as the landscape hasn't changed much since the late 1800's. It was so much fun to explore Chinatown and see things differently through the lens.

Special note for photographers: Be sure to check out Becker's [b] School and Jessica's Shootsac for photographers!

  Michelle + Geoff + DangerMouse
It was a couple of years ago while shooting an engagement session at Baker Beach that I ran into DangerMouse, the super cool French Bulldog. That encounter led to DangerMouse's parents, Michelle and Geoff, to book me for their upcoming wedding in August. I couldn't have been more excited to finally get to work with this adorable Frenchie and a wonderful couple such as Michelle and Geoff. Armed with some treats, we began our session in the Presidio and photographed around the old buildings before finishing at Baker Beach. Despite getting caught in a big wave, we had such a great time and DangerMouse went home a very happy dog!

  Happy Father's Day!
I was in New York City to celebrate my birthday this past weekend and didn't have a chance to blog. I wanted to wish all the dads out there a belated Happy Father's Day, and also wish my dad a happy as well. It is his first Father's Day in heaven. I miss my dad's sense of humor, his gentle smile, his stories of "back in the day", and our long conversations on the phone. He was my biggest supporter in my photography business and has always been there for me throughout my life.

Here is my favorite photo of my dad and mom. This was taken by me in 2006, shortly after my dad was diagnosed with cancer. My dad loved to laugh. Even after his diagnosis, he continued to embrace life and lived it to the fullest.

Happy Father's Day, Dad!

  Tiffany + Eric + Honey
Tiffany and Eric, along with their little dog, Honey, chose to have their engagement session on charming Chestnut Street in the Marina, just a few blocks from our studio in Cow Hollow. What a great idea! We had so much fun walking the neighborhood. The weather was perfect and the light was gorgeous. We made a quick stop at a fire station (Eric is a fireman) before heading over to nearby Crissy Field to let Honey play on the beach. What a fun time. I can't wait for their wedding in August!

  Oh, Baby!
Meet Santiago, the beautiful baby boy of my good friend and wedding planner extraordinaire, Michelle Martinez of Allure : Wedding Planning for the Modern Bride.

This adorable little boy was such a joy to photograph, complete with lots of drool, giggles, tears and laughter. Michelle brought a few cute outfits for Santiago to wear, but only when Santiago was bare-bottomed that he seemed to really enjoy being in front of the camera. Even Gene pitched in during the session when Santiago decided to take a bathroom break!

p.s. Talk about a baby with style... Santiago is all about product. He uses Jonathan Product "Dirt" to get his hair looking so cool!

  Maria Chang of PMA
After posting the gorgeous wedding of Aubrey + Aaron (see post below), I thought now was the perfect time to feature the super-talented, oh-so-sweet Maria Chang of Professional Makeup Artistry (PMA).

Maria is one of the Bay Area's best hair and makeup artists. I've had the pleasure of working with her at many weddings over the years. With her calming presence, beautiful smile and amazing skills, it is no wonder why brides and photographers alike love Maria.

Just look at her work. STUNNING! I can't recommend her enough!
